Friends, colleagues, acquaintances and complete strangers gathered on Monday, February 28th at the Red Rooster in Nashville for a 6 hour tribute showing their love and support of singer/ songwriter Todd Cerney who has touched so many lives in the music industry since his arrival in Nashville in 1974. Estimated at about 500, members of the crowd played, sang and shared fond memories of Todd through the years.

Along with songwriters, Pam Rose, Mary Ann Kennedy and Pat Bunch, Todd Cerney penned the Restless Heart #1 classic “I’ll Still Be Loving You” as well as another #1- Steve Holy’s “Good Morning Beautiful”.

This well-rounded, consummate musician had sung harmony vocals on recordings by Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton, to name a few, and his compositions have been recorded by Aretha Franklin, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Cheap Trick, Etta James and Levon Helm, among others.

On Monday, March 15th, a short 2 weeks after the Red Rooster event, the talented and loving soul of Todd David Cerney journeyed to its final resting place with the choir of angels. Our thoughts and prayers are with Todd’s wife, Kip Kirby and the extended family of all those who knew and loved him. The world will certainly miss the music that would have been.
